Buckle Up. Winter is Coming!
Hey there!
Have you ever wondered why you procrastinate like a master?
Why are you not able to learn that habit?
“Well, I don’t get enough time.”
If that’s your first answer, welcome to the community of Excuse Kings!
I am not asking you to give 22 out of 24 hours. Just 1 hour every day, that’s why its called a habit and not a profession.
Let’s dive deeper into the story of a boy named Duke to understand and realize our mistakes. Just bear with me for this story, the end holds a light, so brighter, you might become blind.
Duke really likes her but just can’t bring together the courage to tell her. He fears rejection and that holds on him so firmly that he lets her go with someone else.
Life goes on. . . .
Duke is reading the newspaper just like any other fine day. Duke is 24 now, he is really hardworking, his boss’ charm boy. While reading, he came across a vacation advertisement in Australia. The images of the vast beaches, huge skyscrapers, beautiful vineyards, and bluish lakes were all so tempting. Even the price offered by the tourism company was affordable, but, this was no time for traveling. He is at the peak of his career. This is the time for working even harder towards his goal, so, he decides to delay this plan for a bit.
He works hard, day in and day out, and after years of struggles, rejections, promotions, and hard times, he is finally settled and 27. He decides to get married to the girl whom he has recently met, Jane. She is beautiful, smart, and caring. Hard to get a girl like this nowaday, right ;). Maybe not as perfect as his crush, but still she is amazing. He seems to be very happy for a few months and after that, the excitement of the marriage slowly fades away. Now he seems to be living a normal life again.
While googling one day, he came across the google doodle celebrating Shakespeare’s birthday. After reading a bit about him, he gets astonished as to how he has never read any work of Shakespeare even after being so much exposed to the word from his childhood itself. He decides to read his work. BUT, tomorrow is an important presentation at the office, so maybe on the weekends. He has to take his parents to the clinic for a checkup on the weekend, so maybe……someday later.
Life goes on. . . .
Duke and Jane now have a baby boy, Matthew. They are giving their full efforts in bringing him up the right way. Most of their time is now spent on completing Matthew’s science projects and taking him to the swimming classes or attending his annual school meets. Duke and Jane are really exhausted, they want a long leave, from . . . . . . . . Everything. Just some days to reignite that forgotten love of their marriage, but this time seems to be odd for that. Their son will soon have his final examinations and they have to be with him.
Life goes on. . . .
Duke is really fascinated by outdoor sports like scuba diving and mountain climbing. He wants to 20 again and has the same enthusiasm and energy. However, he really can’t invest in such royalties now as he has to save for his Matthew’s college and further studies. “Maybe someday, i will do this too.”, he consoles himself.
Duke has now grown old, his boy has left home to pursue his career and find his soul mate. Matthew doesn’t even get much time to meet or even talk to his father. Duke and Jane are alone. They are not 20, or 30, or 40. They don’t have that energy now, they don’t have a job now. They just want to be with their baby boy Matthew, but he is not free for them. “He will find time for us one day”, they say to themselves.
One fine day, Duke leaves the world for good, sitting in the sun listening to his favorite show on Radio, peacefully.
All the aspirations, the wish for Australian vacation, the time for reading books, the enthusiasm for outdoor sports everything is now mixed with dust. Nothing was fulfilled, nothing survived, except some memories of the old poor Duke.
Life is like that, it is no movie where everything ends well. Most time, it ends miserable, with unfulfilled wishes and aspirations. Life is hard, and it ends……It does.
So what can be done?
Only, one thing has to be understood, there is no perfect time for anything. There is no ideal situation for anything. If you want to do it, do it now or never!!
By the way, the story hasn’t ended.
Matthew really likes her but just can’t bring together the courage to tell her. He fears rejection and that holds on him so firmly that he lets her go with someone else.
.
.
.
And it goes on.
The depressing story above shows a very clear, definite, and important lesson. The lesson is, “There is no perfect timing for anything.”
The best time to do anything is now. There might be a hundred reasons for not doing something, but only a few to do it.
Do you know that focus is the reason you are not able to focus? Wait, what did I just say🤔.
Just step away from the screen for a moment and introspect. . . sometimes it may have happened that everything started coming into the right place, but then, it fell apart. Why? Lack of focus.
Don’t worry. Even Gandiva Dhaari Arjuna lost his way and refused to fight on the ground of Kurukshetra. If a man of that much of an accord surrendered, you and I are just normal(and stupid) human beings.
I won’t tell you how to increase your focus, you will find enough content on the net to study about that, at least you know the reason now.
You don’t have enough time, buckle up, and start working. THE WINTER IS COMING.
Can’t wait to see you make a great life out of the coming days 😃.
Chill! You are just a human.
